Core and Larger Group Members

The core of the HSPA faculty are primarily members of the School of Public Health's Division of Health Policy and Management (HPM). They are complemented by another twenty or so HSPA faculty members and affiliates drawn from other departments around the university such as economics, political science, and Haas School of Business.

Core faculty serve as advisors until students advance to candidacy; at that time, the dissertation chair assumes that role as mentor. The core faculty include:

Affiliated Faculty

Faculty who are affiliated with the doctoral program play a contributing role for Health Services and Policy Analysis students. Many of the affiliated faculty teach courses that are listed in the HSPA curriculum and/or serve as graders on the specialty field written exam. Most importantly, however, they are requested to serve as outside members of qualifying exam and dissertation committees.
